About Not Magnolia Interiors
The Beginning
Interiors have been a huge part of my life since being trained as a Specialist Decorative Painter by the 'Paint Effects' guru Jocasta Innes in the late 1990s.
I worked as a Specialist Decorator for many years, mastering techniques like scumble glazing, gilding, colourwashing, and distressing walls and furniture. My projects included private houses and businesses in Cheltenham and across The Cotswolds.
I’ve also mosaicked spas and swimming pools in Adelaide, Australia, painted countless pieces of furniture for clients, decorated whole houses, wallpapered for a well-known TV personality, and even worked on scaffolding while snow fell around me!
Expanding Expertise
Over the years, I’ve gained experience working with fabrics, advising clients on soft furnishings, window treatments, and flooring, and selecting paint colours to transform rooms. My roles have also included project managing, room styling, and collaborating with other trades to bring visions to life.
I spent eight years in Interior Design showrooms, where I loved creating design schemes for clients. Using my creativity, keen eye for detail, and love of pattern, I helped bring ideas to life and provided inspiration for those needing guidance.
My Approach
My hands-on experience has given me an appreciation for the practical side of interiors and a deep respect for the skill and expertise of other trades involved in the projects we collaborate on.
Helping people create the interiors they envision brings me immense joy. With a passion for colour and texture, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to tune into your personal style, I ensure every project reflects the individuality of my clients.
I don't follow trends or push specific styles. My goal is simple: to make sure your home is a true reflection of you.
